Regular Visits, Conversation, and Company
Simply having a visitor from time to time can make all the difference in the world to someone living alone or perhaps caring for an ailing spouse. From sharing a conversation to sharing a meal, FirstLight Home Care means a home care companion and something—or someone—to look forward to.
Medication Reminders
Though our in home caregivers cannot administer medications, they can provide regular reminders for oral medications or injections, and can assist with pre-measured medication and the monitoring of side effects or other medical issues. (Also ask about our special medical dispensers and other helpful home healthcare technology solutions.)
Meal Preparation
Some seniors fail to get adequate nutrition simply because they don’t want to bother with preparing a meal and cleaning up afterwards. A FirstLight, at home companion caregiver can prepare regular meals that maintain a healthy diet, provide sufficient nutrition for the application of medicines, and simply add joy and comfort to a senior’s day. Plus, our caregivers handle all the clean up!
Family Respite Care
We can help relieve the stress of caring for a loved one by providing a much-needed break to primary caregivers (spouses, children, relatives, or friends). In fact, while we aim to serve the needs of individual clients, we also know that we are caring for families in sometimes challenging situations. Our respite care services can give you much needed time off.
Light Housekeeping
Our home health companion caregivers provide vacuuming, dusting, trash removal, organizing and tidying rooms, closets and drawers, and the light cleaning of kitchens and bathrooms. A tidy home is a happier, more comfortable home, and FirstLight Home Care is here to help!
Laundry Services
We can wash, dry, fold, iron and put away clothing, bed linens, and towels for our clients. This in home care service can save time and physical exertion—proving to be a boon for people who have trouble with mobility, experience joint pain, or tire easily.
Shopping, Errands, and Transportation
Getting groceries, prescriptions, or dry cleaning are common needs of those who want to maintain independence at home. FirstLight in home companion caregivers can provide these services directly, including shopping at specific stores for a client’s favorite or needed items. They can also provide incidental transportation for our clients who would like to run errands and socialize, all while ensuring the client’s well-being.
Recreational Activities
Our in home caregivers will take a client to a favorite activity—perhaps a nature class, bingo, or a concert—and are happy to join in a game of cards or Scrabble. In fact, through our ClientFirst matching system, FirstLight Home Care helps match specific caregivers to clients’ interests and habits.
Mail and Paperwork Organization
FirstLight Home Care can help keep track of bills and other important documents, and take care of the clutter by organizing household mail and paperwork. At the direction of our clients, our home caregivers will also assist with opening and reading mail.
Live-In Services
In certain situations, clients and their families may elect to have regular home care administered by a caregiver who resides in the home. FirstLight Home Care can provide these special arrangements on a temporary or more permanent basis.
24-Hour Home Care

Everyone could use a helping hand every now and then, and that’s what FirstLight is here to provide with our non-medical services.

It is our goal to offer services to as many people as we can, and we realize that some of our clients require medical services to help them remain living where they are most comfortable. The medical services we offer will vary from one home care location to the next, yet when combined with our non-medical care, allow us to create well-rounded, comprehensive care plans.
